The firms that make the market work.
A life settlement transaction involves more than one party. High Yield Vault brokers the match between policyholders and qualified investors — while our operational partners handle the logistics that keep every transaction running smoothly. Transparency about these roles is one of our core principles.
A direct answer.
High Yield Vault works with operational partners who handle the administrative and servicing infrastructure required to complete a life settlement transaction. Our principal operational partner is Settlement Group, which supports policy administration, premium coordination, and ongoing servicing after a policy has been acquired by a qualified investor in our network. Settlement Group operates independently from High Yield Vault — their role is operational, not a financial principal in the transaction.
Settlement Group: the operational backbone.
Our principal operational partner supports the administrative side of every transaction we broker — so the experience for sellers, investors, and advisors stays clear and consistent.
Settlement Group is an independent operational services firm specializing in the administrative infrastructure of life settlement transactions. They work with High Yield Vault as an operational partner, supporting policy administration, premium coordination, and ongoing servicing for transactions brokered through our platform.
Their role is strictly operational: once a qualified investor in our network has acquired a policy from a seller, Settlement Group handles the ongoing logistics — keeping premiums current with the insurance carrier, coordinating annual in-force verifications, processing beneficiary updates, and ultimately administering the claim when the policy matures.

servicing
Why this matters for you: whether you're a seller receiving payment, an investor holding a newly acquired policy, or an advisor managing a client relationship, the operational layer runs in the background with professional continuity. You don't have to become an expert in policy servicing — that's what our partnership with Settlement Group is designed to handle.
Settlement Group's operations, corporate governance, and business practices are independent of High Yield Vault. We work with them because of the quality of their operational infrastructure and their long-standing commitment to the secondary life insurance market.
Three roles, clearly separated.
A transparent view of what each party does in a life settlement transaction brokered through our platform. Clear boundaries keep everyone accountable.
High Yield Vault
We broker the match between sellers and investors.
- Evaluate each policy against qualifying criteria
- Educate both sellers and investors in plain language
- Broker the match between policyholder and qualified investor
- Guide both parties through documentation and closing
- Earn a brokerage fee paid at closing — only when a transaction succeeds
Settlement Group
They handle the operational infrastructure after acquisition.
- Administer acquired policies on behalf of investors
- Coordinate premium payments with insurance carriers
- Verify in-force status annually per industry standards
- Process beneficiary and ownership updates as needed
- Manage claim processing when a policy ultimately matures
Qualified Investors
They provide the capital and acquire the policy as an investment.
- Review documentation for each available policy
- Conduct independent due diligence on the opportunity
- Acquire the policy directly from the seller at closing
- Hold the policy as an asset in their investment portfolio
- Receive the death benefit upon policy maturity
These boundaries are foundational to our transparent operating model. High Yield Vault does not purchase policies, hold capital, or act as the financial principal in any transaction. Our role is brokerage and consulting — matching, educating, and guiding. Capital comes from qualified investors; operational servicing comes from partners like Settlement Group.
Benefits of the partnership model.
A multi-party structure isn't complexity for its own sake — it exists because each function is best handled by specialists who focus on that discipline.
Specialization over vertical integration
Brokerage, operational administration, and capital allocation are three different businesses. Each requires a distinct skill set, risk appetite, and operational infrastructure. Vertical integration of all three often compromises quality at one or more stages. Specialization allows each party to do what they do best.
Aligned incentives at every stage
Because each party earns differently — HYV on brokerage success, operational partners on servicing quality, investors on policy performance — no single party can shortcut another's responsibility. Conflicts that can arise in integrated models are structurally prevented.
Transparency for every stakeholder
Sellers know their buyer is an investor, not the firm advising them. Investors know the operational servicing is handled by a specialist, not a side business. Advisors know the compensation flow is clear. Every party can see where their counterparty's incentives actually sit.
Resilience through independence
Because our partners operate independently from High Yield Vault, no single party is a single point of failure. If any one operator faces a business disruption, the others continue operating. For policies held over multi-year horizons, this structural resilience matters.
How the partnership fits regulatory structure.
Life settlement transactions are regulated at the U.S. state level. The partnership structure ensures each party operates within the appropriate framework.
Brokerage & consulting (HYV)
High Yield Vault operates as a life settlement brokerage and consulting firm. We broker the match between sellers and qualified investors and provide consulting services to both sides. HYV does not act as a financial principal — we do not purchase, hold, or capitalize policies for our own account.
Operational servicing (Settlement Group)
Settlement Group provides operational servicing for policies acquired by investors in our network. Their role is administrative — they do not provide financial, investment, or legal advice to policyholders or investors. Their operations are independent from and not controlled by High Yield Vault.
State regulatory oversight
Every life settlement transaction brokered through our platform is executed under the regulatory framework of the U.S. state in which the policyholder resides. Most U.S. states have adopted life settlement acts modeled on NCOIL and NAIC frameworks. Our operating procedures are designed to comply with the requirements of each applicable state.
Independent counsel & disclosures
We encourage every seller, investor, and advisor to seek independent legal, tax, and financial advice before participating in a life settlement transaction. Our partnership structure is designed to support that advice — not replace it. High Yield Vault does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice.
