Cookie Policy
How we use cookies and similar technologies on highyieldvault.com — what they are, which ones we use, and how you can control them.
The short version
This Cookie Policy explains how High Yield Vault, LLC ("HYV," "we," "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit highyieldvault.com.
We use essential cookies (required for the site to work), analytics cookies (to understand how visitors use the site), and a limited set of functionality cookies. We do not use cookies for cross-site behavioral advertising or to sell your data.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, our cookie banner (first visit), and by using Global Privacy Control (GPC). California residents have specific rights under CCPA/CPRA described below.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit. They allow the website to recognize your device, remember information about your visit, and improve your experience.
Types of cookies
Cookies can be categorized in several ways:
- By origin:
- First-party cookies — set by the website you are visiting (us)
- Third-party cookies — set by domains other than the one you are visiting (e.g., analytics providers)
- By duration:
- Session cookies — deleted when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies — remain until they expire or are manually deleted
Similar tracking technologies
In addition to cookies, we may use other technologies that function similarly, including:
- Web beacons / pixel tags — tiny transparent images embedded in pages or emails
- Local storage — browser-based storage for preferences or session data
- Session replay tools — only if explicitly disclosed (currently not in use)
For simplicity, this Policy uses the term "cookies" to refer to all of these technologies.
Legal definition
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), cookies that collect data identifying or reasonably linkable to you are considered "personal information" and are subject to the rights described in our Privacy Policy. Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, non-essential cookies require your consent before being placed.
How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for the following specific purposes:
- To operate the website — core functions such as security, session management, and load balancing
- To remember your preferences — for example, whether you've dismissed the cookie banner or accepted certain cookies
- To understand usage — aggregated analytics about which pages visitors view, how long they stay, and which paths they follow through the site
- To improve the site — identifying friction points, broken links, and opportunities to improve the experience
- To protect against fraud and abuse — detecting suspicious activity
What we do NOT use cookies for
- Cross-site behavioral advertising
- Building profiles to sell to third parties
- Retargeting you across unrelated websites
- Collecting sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA
- Tracking minors under 18
Categories of Cookies We Use
We classify the cookies we use into four categories, consistent with industry standards and EU/California regulatory frameworks:
Strictly Necessary
Required for the website to function correctly. Without these cookies, the site cannot operate properly. They do not track you for marketing purposes.
Examples: session management, CSRF protection, cookie consent preference, load balancing.
No consent requiredAnalytics & Performance
Help us understand how visitors interact with the website by collecting aggregated and typically anonymized data about page views, session duration, and traffic sources.
Examples: Google Analytics, performance monitoring.
Consent required (EU/UK)Functionality
Remember choices you make and preferences to enhance your experience (e.g., language selection, customized content preferences).
Examples: language preference, region detection, user interface preferences.
Consent required (EU/UK)Marketing / Targeting
Currently not used on this website. If we introduce marketing cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and request your consent before activating them.
Examples (not currently deployed): Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads conversion tracking.

Your Privacy Rights
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor opt-out preferences signaled through Global Privacy Control (GPC), a browser-level signal that automatically communicates your opt-out preference to every website you visit. If you have GPC enabled in your browser, we treat that signal as a valid request to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA.
To enable GPC, use a browser or extension that supports it, such as:
- Mozilla Firefox (built-in in Global Privacy Control settings)
- DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser
- Brave Browser
- Browser extensions like Privacy Badger, OptMeowt
Learn more: globalprivacycontrol.org
Do Not Track (DNT)
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is no industry or legal consensus on how DNT signals should be interpreted, we do not respond to DNT browser signals at this time. We do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control signal, which is the more widely recognized mechanism under California law.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect through cookies
- Delete personal information collected through cookies
- Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (including cross-context behavioral advertising)
- Limit the use of Sensitive Personal Information
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights
To exercise these rights, see Section 6 of our Privacy Policy, or email info@highyieldvault.com.
European residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we have about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Withdraw consent at any time (for consent-based processing)
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority
See Section 8 of our Privacy Policy for additional details on GDPR rights.

We do not sell personal information collected through cookies to third parties for monetary consideration. In the preceding 12 months, we have not sold personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
